There’s something special about fall in Colorado Springs. The temperatures cool down, the mountains start showing off their fall colors, and it’s the perfect time to get outside, explore, and then come back to a cozy place to relax.

If you’re planning a fall getaway, here are some of our favorite ways to enjoy the season while staying at Old Town Guesthouse B&B.

🍁 Take a Scenic Fall Drive

Colorado’s fall colors are hard to beat! Aspens typically begin changing in September, turning the mountainsides brilliant shades of gold.

Take a drive toward Pikes Peak, explore the mountain roads around Woodland Park and Cripple Creek, or make a day of it and simply follow the colors. Pack a camera—you’ll definitely want it.

🥾 Explore Garden of the Gods

Fall is one of the best times to visit Garden of the Gods. Cooler temperatures make hiking and walking much more comfortable, and the red rock formations against the changing fall landscape are beautiful.

Best of all, it’s just minutes from the Guesthouse.

🚂 Ride the Cog Railway

Take the Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit of Pikes Peak for incredible views along the way. Fall can be especially beautiful as you travel through different elevations and changing scenery.

Just remember—the temperature at the summit can be much colder than it is in town, so bring layers!

🍎 Visit Local Fall Festivals & Pumpkin Patches

Fall brings plenty of seasonal fun to the Colorado Springs area. Look for pumpkin patches, corn mazes, harvest festivals, farmers markets, Oktoberfest celebrations and other special events happening throughout September and October.

There’s always something fun going on around town.

👻 Discover Colorado Springs’ Haunted History

October is the perfect excuse to explore the spookier side of Colorado Springs and nearby Manitou Springs. Look for ghost tours, haunted history walks and seasonal events throughout the area.

Historic Old Colorado City has plenty of history of its own—and staying in a historic B&B makes a fall getaway even more fun.

🛍️ Spend an Afternoon in Old Colorado City

One of the best parts about staying with us is being able to leave the car behind.

Walk from the Guesthouse into historic Old Colorado City for locally owned shops, galleries, restaurants, coffee, cocktails and plenty of places to wander. Grab lunch, do a little shopping, enjoy happy hour and stroll back to your room when you’re finished.

🍻 Enjoy Colorado Springs’ Breweries & Fall Flavors

Colorado Springs has a great craft brewery and restaurant scene. Fall is the perfect time to find seasonal beers, warm cocktails, comfort food and all things pumpkin and apple.

Ask us for recommendations—we love sending our guests to local favorites!

🌄 Catch a Colorado Sunset

You don’t have to go far for this one.

Grab a drink, head back to the Guesthouse and enjoy the cooler evening air. Some of our rooms feature private patios, mountain views and private hot tubs, making fall evenings one of our favorite times of year at the inn.

🛏️ Make Old Town Guesthouse Your Fall Home Base

Located in historic Old Colorado City, Old Town Guesthouse B&B puts you close to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Cave of the Winds and many of Colorado Springs’ most popular attractions—while still giving you a walkable neighborhood filled with restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Start your morning with a homemade breakfast, spend the day exploring Colorado Springs, and come back to a relaxing evening at the Guesthouse.

Fall doesn’t last long in Colorado—come enjoy it while you can. 🍁
