The Old Town GuestHouse was newly built in 1997 as a Colorado Springs bed and breakfast. The three story brick building is in perfect harmony with the 1859 period construction of the historic Old Colorado City.

The GuestHouse is located on the site of the 1892 city hall, fire station and jail which was surrounded by saloons, gambling parlors and brothels. Ongoing restoration of Old Colorado City has enhanced its beauty without diminishing its charm.

The Guesthouse offers an 80 amp Tesla supercharging station as well as a Clipper Creek universal charging station for other models of electric cars and hybrids.

The streetscape that greets you as you walk out the front door of the inn...
will welcome you to this wonderful experience.

Old Colorado City was founded in 1859 as a "Pikes Peak or Bust" gold rush town. It was envisioned as a mining supply hub for the new gold mines in South Park, Blue River, and Pikes Peak. In 1861, it was briefly named as the capital of the new Colorado territory. Later annexed by Colorado Springs, this national historic district today contains numerous shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. Today the GuestHouse stands at the gateway to Old Colorado City, the "heartbeat of Colorado Springs."

Centrally Located to Area Attactions and Businesses

Manitou Springs shops and mineral water fountains, Pikes Peak, Pikes Peak cog railway, Pikes Peak toll road, Cave of the Winds, downtown Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Canyon, the Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado College, Garden of the Gods, the Olympic Training Center, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Penrose Rodeo Stadium, historic Rockledge Ranch, Seven Falls, Will Rogers Shrine, hiking/biking trails, two nature centers, the Fine Arts Center, Pioneer Museum, horseback riding stables, and major Colorado Springs businesses.

The Guesthouse contains modern amenities which set a new standard for Colorado bed and breakfasts. The foyer has an elevator to facilitate access by all guest to all areas of the inn. Our African Orchid room has been designed and equipped to exceed ADA requirements for hotel accommodations. It's spaciousness makes moving within the room a snap, the roll-in shower is big enough for two and all controls are within easy reach whether seated or standing. Other details, too numerous to mention, complete the ADA amenities yet the room remains one of our most popular rentals - perhaps its the four poster, mosquito netted bed, or the spectacular views of Cheyenne Mountain and Pike Peak.

The Guesthouse offers an 80 amp Tesla supercharging station as well as a Clipper Creek universal charging station for other models of electric cars and hybrids.

From the ramp leaADA Bath areading to the Front Door to our Elevator accessing all floors, guest rooms, and common areas no detail has been overlooked.  The African Orchid room is fully ADA compliant with wheelchair friendly door widths, sink heights and floor plan.  Alarms are both flashing lights and audible signals.  The roll in shower with adjustable shower head height, grab bars and available shower chair is comfortable and easy to use whatever disability you have (or if you have none at all).

The Old Town Guesthouse has installed state-of-the-art waveless waterbeds in every rooWaterbed in Coral Reef Roomm of the Inn (including the Innkeepers quarters).  These beds are soft-sided pillow-top construction.  Each mattress has several individual water chambers (tubes) which run head to toe, offering total body support, pressureless sleeping comfort and an complete absence of lateral water movement to disrupt your sleeping companion.  The pillow-top construction and down mattress pads eliminate the need to heat the water even when the room is kept below normal temperature ranges.

Reprinted below is just one of several articles found on the web, praising waterbeds and their many benefits.

By HKrafston

When it comes to comfort and relaxation as you sleep, nothing can beat waterbeds. Aside from the comfort it provides, technology has also added to its quality value making it possible to control temperature and now they come with supportive frames making water beds come to the top class when it comes to purchasing beds.

Most people do not purchase waterbeds for comfort alone but they are also being bought due to the medical benefits that they can get when they use them.

Waterbeds are said to provide good back support which is a good help when it comes to maintaining your posture. It is also said that sleeping in a water bed reduces the chance of having lower back pain.

Since the waterbed does not accumulate dust or skin particles, water beds are recommended for those who have asthma and allergies to lessen the risks of an attack taking place. Waterbeds are very clean.

Water beds are available in different sizes and weight. The normal weight of a water bed comes in the range of 90 kg to 180 kg. The water beds also vary in depth and stability. Water beds come in the same sizes as normal beds. The water filled mattress can come in a depth of 2 inches for topper mattresses and 9 inches for full depth beds. If you want to be really comfortable then you should get a large sized waterbed.

Waterbeds are durable. In fact they can last for 10 to 15 years depending on how you use your water bed. The manufacturer will do the installing for you so you do not have to worry about messing up the process and leaking your bedroom. You can also install the mattress yourself but you have to make sure that you follow carefully the instructions of the manufacturer.

You spend a lot of time in bed so it is important to have a bed of good quality. As long as you are comfortable, you will surely get a good night’s sleep.
